According to police, an Uber driver with a semi-automatic handgun terrorized the town of Kalamazoo, Michigan, on Saturday night, driving alongside residents and opening fire. But if you were watching five of our nation's biggest news channels Sunday morning, you would have had no idea that there had been a mass shooting just hours before.

And despite a combined 19 interviews with presidential candidates Sunday morning, Media Matters found that none of the five programs bothered to ask one candidate about gun control.

"That's five hours of programming from shows that ostensibly address the week's most pressing issues in America, and yet no discussion of the country's latest killing spree, or what public officials should do to address the problem of gun violence," Eric Boehlert, a senior fellow for Media Matters, wrote Monday.

"If the alleged Kalamazoo shooter had been a Muslim, would the Sunday shows have all ignored the killings?" he added.

Six people are dead after a white, domestic terrorist went on a shooting spree in Kalamazoo, Michigan on Saturday, and officials are refusing to call it terrorism.

This was absolutely terrorism. The prosecutor told the press that this was a premeditated act. This man went to three different locations and callously gunned down innocent people and murdered them. We have seen this time and again, a white person goes on a shooting spree and magically it isn’t considered terrorism, but if a Muslim person does the same thing…TERRORISM!

This double standard is getting very old. Dalton went to different locations and spread fear throughout a community; that is terrorism. It doesn’t matter if he acted alone. It doesn’t matter which god he worships. It doesn’t matter if he said anything, none of that matters. What matters is that he picked up a gun and drove around murdering people and spreading fear.

I’m sure the right-wing and NRA will release statements very shortly agreeing with me. Just kidding. They’ll probably ignore it.

Even though accusations of being a "secret Muslim" dogged Barack Obama, nobody looks back at what William Bennett when he said he advocated "for more severe penalties for drug dealers, even saying that he had no moral qualms about beheading guilty parties as was done in Saudi Arabia" and thinks he is a "secret Muslim," why is that?
